Obi-Wan Kenobi (T.V series) - Lighting Artist

The Batman - Lighting artist.

Super fun project, especially for lighting. The noir feel made this project a delight to work on creatively. I was primarily setting up sequences and driving lighting looks for some of the key vfx shots in the film.

2021

Halo: Become - Lighting artist.

A TVC project for the new halo game, a fast paced lighting environment working with a global team.

Marvel: Loki - Lighting artist.
Episodes 1 and 4

 Loki was a fun little technical challenge, I was primarily charged with making sure that the TVA’s city was working technically in 3D. I spent a lot of time optimizing and working cross-departments to create workflows that enabled animation, environments, model, texture, fx and lookdev to work cohesively with lighting.

2018

The Lego Movie 2 - Lighting Artist

I love the Lego movies. Working on these is so much fun. It’s extra fun for me because I love working on full CG shows, as well as being able to comp my own work. Overall I think being able to feel a real sense of creative freedom on these projects is what I cherish most.

 

Outlaw King - Lighting Artist / Layout

Outlaw king was largely a crowds focused project. Massive armies fighting one another. The primary focus was to have realistic looking piles of bodies, mounted infantry and soldiers. A lot of placing and posing dead bodies.

 

Skyscraper - Lighting Artist

This was a mammoth project. A huge amount of work needed to be done, with the entire team working hard. Lots of shots, fast paced and intense. I learnt the importance of remaining totally calm under pressure.

 

2017

Peter Rabbit - Lighting Artist

Working as a shot lighter on this project, I learnt a lot about the importance of minimalism in lighting fur. The big challenge with the project was making the full CG rabbit feel full of life. The key to this was in the way we lit the eyes. 

 

Lego: Ninjago - Lighting Artist / Compositing

My first full CG project. Jumping in to an awesome project in it's final stages was a good chance to learn to take notes quickly and as efficiently as possible. It was also my first time compositing my own shots from start to finish.

 

The Mummy - Lighting Artist

This was the project I started to really get an intro into what it is like to work at a much larger studio (MPC: Vancouver.) Here I was able to grow my skillset in a fast paced quality focused environment. It’s really helped me grow as 3D artist.

 

2016

 

Alien: Covenant - 3D Generalist. (Post-Viz)

For this project I had to dig deep and learn a lot of new techniques and apply many old ones. This project has broadened my range as a 3D artist. Being a project that was extremely time intensive I was pushed in to learning Python which helped me utilize my position in the pipeline and effectively receive and produce work. 

 

Ghostbusters - Modeller and junior Lighting Artist.

Feeling pretty comfortable with modelling props and basic environments now gave me the opportunity to jump further ahead in the pipe and focus more on lighting again. As well as some work on creating a skeletal structure for a mythical creature. 

 

Deepwater Horizon - Modeller

For this project I made a fully CG environment from scratch myself. This project taught me how to correctly utilize the design and concepting process.

 

2015

Saints and Strangers - Junior modeller / Intern Lighting Artist.

Having made myself comfortable with the modeling pipeline, this project was pulled together by a small assets team. This project also gave me the opportunity to hop in to Katana. Not only did I learn katana in this project, but a better understanding of the PRman renderer as well.

 

Gods of Egypt - Intern Modeller

This was my first job as a 3D artist and I started as a modeller. I focused mainly on asset creation from the ground up.

 

2014

Production runner - Various

My first entry into the post production world was as a running for DELUXE working across a series of departments and films. The most notable of which was assisting the team on MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

 

2013

Big Cookie Studios - 3D generalist intern.

My first entry in to the industry! I was working as a 3D generalist on a full CG music video called "Little Darling" a song by Secret City.
